The 6 Elements

By God’s sovereign decree, we have been intentionally placed in our community to Lead people closer to Jesus and each other. In like manner, the elders of Pillar church have been commissioned by God to equip the saints for the work of the ministry. We believe the content of the scriptures and the context of the community ought to inform how we equip the saints to be witnesses where God has placed us; and that the development of 6 Element disciples will provide east Fort Worth with effective, wise, and godly ambassadors of Jesus, ready to engage culture with the knowledge and grace of the Gospel.

Gospel Fluency

Speaking and recognizing the Gospel with ease. Possessing such a “command” of its truths and implications that the Gospel flows naturally from within.

Emotionally Healthy

Recognizing and managing our feelings. Identifying self-destructive patterns (past & present), practicing healthy self-expression and compassion, actively surrendering to God’s love, and persistently pursuing communion with God.

Biblical Literacy & Living

Knowing the Bible cognitively and experientially. Exploring the simple and complex truths of scripture and actively seeking to apply its truths to our lives.

Deep Christian Family

Building and maintaining loving relationships with other members of Pillar Church, readily sharing our lives, extending grace, and practicing the one-anothers generously.

Committed to the Eastside

Uplifting the beauty and potential of our geographic location through prayer and presence. Developing relationships with its residents, supporting local commerce, and seeking the community’s welfare.

Race & Culture Conscious

Being acutely aware of our unique national history and its perpetuating effects on our present reality. Not willing to turn a blind eye to race and culture, but being willing to engage, celebrate and adequately deal with social constructs through the lens of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
