ABOUT US
OUR STORY
We believe that faith in Jesus is the sole means of salvation for all people, regardless of race, culture, or ethnicity. This Gospel not only reconciles sinful humanity to God but transforms the heart and mind as people are transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of His beloved Son. As new creations, we stand for Jesus, truth, justice, love, and mercy -- and we recognize that people of color in America have endured deep generational, spiritual, and human oppression whose psychological, emotional, and spiritual residue remains to this day. Only the Gospel of Jesus Christ can redeem people from such darkness. These spiritual battles must be fought with spiritual weapons; thus, we depend on God and His Word to empower and guide our fight against personal sin and the public ideologies it spawns within society.
United by these convictions, Pastors Kaynenn Parker, Eric Darjean, Derek Carson, and Mardochee Gaston serve as the elders of Pillar Church, committed to shepherding the people of East Fort Worth as ministers of the Gospel of Grace. In 2019, God established Pillar Church with the mission of "Leading People Closer to Jesus and Each Other." Jesus' words have anchored us from the start: "If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free" (John 8:31-32).
Today, we gather every Sunday at 10:30 AM at 6801 Church St, Fort Worth, TX 76112, walking through books of the Bible together through expository preaching that exposes the original meaning of the text and applies it to our time and context. Our discipleship strategy centers on developing 6-Element Disciples -- growing in Gospel Fluency, Biblical Literacy & Living, Emotional Health, Deep Christian Family, Race & Culture Consciousness, and Commitment to the Eastside -- providing our community with effective, wise, and godly ambassadors of Jesus. The time is now to develop disciples who lead people closer to Jesus and each other, so that our community might increasingly reflect our great hope and holy ambition: On the Eastside as it is in Heaven.
