WALTON ELEMENTARY
EAST FORT WORTH
As part of our Commitment to the Eastside, Pillar Church has adopted Maudrie M. Walton Elementary School -- a Title I public school serving roughly 300 students in the Stop Six neighborhood of East Fort Worth. The faculty, staff, and families of Walton pour into our community with tireless effort and joy, and we count it a privilege to come alongside them. Through our partnership with Academy 4, members of Pillar mentor every 4th grader one Friday a month through a research-based leadership curriculum. Those students then graduate into Leaders 5, where 5th graders practice the leadership skills they learned by mentoring 1st graders in their school. Through 4Families, we encourage and build Christian community among Walton families, and through Read2Win, our trained volunteer reading coaches provide weekly one-on-one literacy support to 1st graders working to become proficient readers.
Beyond these ongoing partnerships, we show up for Walton's biggest moments throughout the year -- back to school supply drives, teacher appreciation, Field Day, Trunk or Treat, and graduation -- making sure the people who love our kids know they are loved in return. Whether it takes 30 minutes a week or one Friday a month, there is a place for you to serve. Jump in and join us in playing a small role to say thank you for loving our community.
VILLAGE CREEK
APARTMENTS
EAST FORT WORTH
We love being part of the Village Creek community and gathering regularly at the Village Creek Clubhouse for Burgers & Bibles—a free, family-friendly evening open to everyone. On the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month, neighbors come together to enjoy games, a shared meal, small group discussions for kids and students, and a Bible study for adults. It’s a relaxed and welcoming space where friendships are built, faith is explored, and families are supported. Whether you’re new to the area or have lived here for years, we’d love for you to join us.
